CREW Vancouver's Response to COVID-19

Thursday, Mar 19, 2020

First and foremost, I hope all of you and your families are safe and healthy during this uncertain and unprecedented time.

Board of Directors

We are all dealing with the personal and professional implications of COVID-19, a term that is now an embedded part of our lexicon.

I want you all to know that CREW Vancouver is here to support you in anyway we can.  We are a dedicated network and will remain supporting each other over the coming weeks and months.

At this time, please note that CREW Vancouver in-person events are cancelled/postponed until further notice. Our committees are working on virtual content to be launched soon so members can stay connected. We will resume our regularly-scheduled programming when it is safe to do so.

I believe this unfortunate situation is calling on us all to lead. We must personally lead by exercising social distancing and only connect in appropriate outdoor places. Social distancing is now the theme word of 2020 and our new reality. We must also lead professionally by addressing the many situations confronting our business. Expeditious crisis-management, decision - making, analysis and compassion are key factors in our current leadership model.

During these times CREW Vancouver will do our best to support all of you. Our Board of Directors met remotely this week and we are mobilizing a plan to keep us connected and engaged. This will include online learning, online networking on relevant topics, and ensuring our social connections are maintained virtually. More will be communicated on these initiatives in the next 10 days. In addition, our Board has been in contact with CREW Network. CREW Network will be mobilizing on initiatives that will benefit us all. Please stay tuned.

These are hard times but we must do what we can to stay connected, supported, and mentally stimulated. If there are topics you wish us to focus on please let me know via e-mail, (ashley@beyondthebuildings.com). We are here to support all of you and establish meaningful and safe channels of connection.

The CREW Vancouver Board will be sending future updates to support you during this time. In addition, I'm here if any of you need anything. And I truly mean anything - to chat through a business problem, discuss the ramifications of home schooling, (a big topic in my house), or to organize an evening chat with a glass of wine, (a personal favourite). We will get through this together day by day.

Wishing you all strength, support and good health during this time.
