CREW Vancouver's Commitment: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Thursday, Jul 30, 2020

The events of the past few months have revealed truths about the biases and racism that exists in our communities, our systems and our places of work. CREW was founded on the principles of gender equity and inclusion. We have come to understand that through our own ignorance and insufficient action, we have fallen short of an opportunity to dig deeper and be truly inclusive and bold in our mission of accelerating women in commercial real estate. In response, we have taken this time to begin learning, listening and educating ourselves. We remain committed to creating a lasting and meaningful impact throughout our industry and our community.

CREW was established to bring women in commercial real estate together to help support each other and succeed professionally. Over the years, we have developed into a community that finds tangible ways to accelerate, encourage and support women as leaders. But in taking a hard look at our industry, our network and our community, we know we must do more to advance diversity, equity and inclusion. In doing so, this includes taking an active and ongoing stance against all forms of racism and inequality.

We also know that actions speak louder than words.

That's why CREW Vancouver is developing a plan for meaningful allyship with local BIPOC and other causes representing marginalized women through the establishment of our Justice, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee. Below we share our initial plans in the hopes that you'll join us in our journey to build a truly diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist community for all.

Sincerely,

CREW Vancouver – Board of Directors
