Speaker Series Virtual Panel: 2021 Market Outlook & Insights

Please join us for our annual Market Outlook and Insights Panel, moderated by current CREW president, Ashley Willard Bauman, Principal at Beyond the Buildings.

Our panel of accomplished industry experts will reflect on 2020 and will provide their forecasts for 2021. The panel will cover multiple industry sectors and will reflect on the market response to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Panelists:

Jocelyne Legal - Managing Director, Office Leasing at Cushman & Wakefield

Jocelyne is a Managing Director, Office Leasing, for Cushman & Wakefield, based out of Vancouver. In this role, she oversees the leasing operations of the Vancouver and Victoria offices. Prior to joining the firm, Jocelyne was Vice President, Leasing, at a fully-integrated commercial real estate advisory and capital firm where she oversaw the marketing and leasing of a commercial real estate portfolio of approximately 4 million square feet throughout Metro Vancouver.

Jocelyne is a well-respected professional with 30 years industry experience. She has worked with some of Canada’s most sophisticated institutional landlords, negotiating complex lease transactions for key downtown, suburban office, and industrial buildings.

Jocelyne has consulted for the British Columbia Real Estate Association in the design and development of its Commercial Applied Practice Course and has taught components of the program. She holds both a Managing Broker License with the Real Estate Council of British Columbia in Trading Services and Property Management as well as a Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) designation.

Stuart Morrison - Executive Vice President, Industrial Division at Colliers International

Stu started his industrial real estate career in 1995 after graduating from UBC and joined Colliers in 2009 as a consistent, award-winning performer from another national firm. Along with Darren Cannon, Stu set out to create Metro Vancouver’s market leading industrial real estate brokerage team. Away from the office Stu enjoys traveling, skiing, mountain biking, trail running, playing tennis and golfing. Stu and Darren are supporters of numerous local charities including the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, the B.C. Cancer Foundation and the Coast Mental Health Foundation.

Since 2010, Colliers has recognized Stu and his team for top performance in the Vancouver industrial division as well as top overall production in the Vancouver office for 2012 and 2013. In 2011, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) awarded Stu with SIOR’s largest international dollar volume transaction. In the past three years Stu has been involved in more than $1.2 billion of property sales and 8.9 million square feet of leasing. Stu represents occupier clients including Maersk, K-Bro Linen Systems, Volkswagen Canada, Mrecedes-Benz Canada, TJX, and Trail Appliances. He also brokers investment and development transactions and has represented numerous clients including GM Pension Fund, Morguard Investments, BentallGreenOak, Hydro Quebec, Beedie, KingSett Capital, ICBC and TD Asset Management.

Greg Zayadi - Senior Vice President, Developer Services at Rennie

Greg Zayadi brings more than two decades of experience in Western Canadian real estate and development. A former executive with Anthem Properties, Greg was a key member of the team, leading the company’s growth since 2009 through his participation in all aspects of acquisition, design, development, construction and management of residential and commercial assets.

Notably, he helped lead the visioning, design and positioning of a one-million-square-foot mixed-use development in Burnaby. Greg has successfully brought nearly 15,000 condominium units to market during his career, often managing multiple stakeholders within complex partnership structures. His ability to work seamlessly with multiple stakeholders and his deep knowledge of the Vancouver real-estate market make Greg a valuable presence at any boardroom table.

Ashley Willard-Bauman - Principal at Beyond the Buildings

Ashley Willard Bauman is a proven expert in the strategy, marketing, and community building for world-class neighbourhoods, resorts, purpose built rental buildings, and commercial developments. Ashley works at every stage of the community building process, from the initial vision to completion - and beyond. During Ashley's 20+ years of experience, she has served as Director of Business Innovation for Intrawest (the largest developers of village-centric resorts), Vice President of Real Estate for Envisioning and Storytelling, Director of Strategy and Marketing for UBC Properties Trust, and consulted for numerous high-profile clients.

Ashley has worked in 14 countries and been a part of leadership teams producing combined revenues of over two billion dollars during her tenure in this industry. Most importantly, Ashley believes in creating diverse, engaged communities that embrace environmental, economical, and social sustainability practices - for communities that are not only viable, but a source of pride for decades to come.
