CREW Vancouver Speakers at the Upcoming CREW Convention in Atlanta!

CREW Vancouver is thrilled to share that Liz Firer-Gillespie and Stephanie Marshall of Nicola Wealth Real Estate will be panelists at the upcoming CREW Convention in Atlanta! The Convention is the premier event in the industry and an opportunity for CREW members from around the globe to network, increase their industry education and for leadership development. LIZ FIRER-GILLESPIE, VICE PRESIDENT, ASSET MANAGEMENT, NICOLA WEALTH REAL ESTATE

Liz Firer-Gillespie will be speaking at the “Global Drivers and Implementation of ESG” session. The session will focus on drivers, implementation and tracking of ESG. Discussions will provide a perspective of how owners/landlords are operationalizing ESG across real estate portfolios.

Liz oversees Nicola Wealth Real Estate’s $9+ billion portfolio of properties in both Canada and U.S. including office, industrial, retail, seniors housing and multi-family. She leads the strategic planning for all assets, ensuring optimal performance of her varied portfolio by positioning the assets for success in their respective markets. Prior to joining Nicola Wealth, Liz spent a decade in the U.S. as a property manager working with Fortune 500 companies, international funds and institutional owners. Liz holds an undergraduate degree from the University of I owa and an MBA from the University of British Columbia. Outside the office, Liz enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, skiing, reading and travelling.

STEPHANIE MARSHALL, DIRECTOR, VALUE ADD FUND, NICOLA WEALTH REAL ESTATE 

Stephanie Marshall is a co-presenter in the “Driving Commercial and Community Value Through Placemaking” session. Alongside another woman from Washington DC, they will be presenting success stories and case studies of neighbourhoods in Vancouver and DC that have been invigorated through placemaking. Stephanie will also highlight ancillary impacts on how sites are used including public infrastructure requirements and identify key components required for planning, design and activation and define consistent core elements of placemaking.

“I’m looking forward to showcasing Vancouver leading up to being the host city for the Convention in 2024. It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with people from different cities and backgrounds to provide some meaningful sessions and facilitate discussions around something I am passionate about – placemaking. Also, getting to network with women from all over North America is pretty amazing.” 

Stephanie oversees the firm’s portfolio of co-investment properties. Stephanie’s previous experience include leasing and investment brokerage followed by managing the leasing for a prominent retail apparel and real estate company. Her exposure to a multitude of asset classes and developments North America-wide allows her to bring a broad set of skills and strategic big-picture mentality to Nicola Wealth. Stephanie enjoys the challenges resulting from the complexity and unique nature of this portfolio and brings a collaborative and strategic approach to her role. Stephanie graduated from McGill University with a joint major in Urban Planning and International Development Studies. When not at work, you can find Steph on the water with her family or hiking with her dog, Frank.
